FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SUNSHINE COAST PLUMBERS
My water bill was unusually high, how do I check if I leaked?
A simple way to check for a leak is to make sure all the taps inside and out are turned off. Make sure Washing machines, dishwashers, toilets are not being used. Then have a look at your water meter over 5 or 10 mins and see if the meter is ticking over. If your meter is ticking over this can indicate a leak. Look for visually water damage or flooding / wet ground. If the leak not visually obvious special equipment may be needed.
Why does my washing machine keep making banging noises?
This can be an overloaded or unbalanced load in the machine. Or a hammering noise can be water in the pipes stopping and starting during the wash cycle causing the noise. This can be remedied by turning down water pressure or installing an arrestor device to the washing machine tapware.
Why does a toilet just start to run/leak?
Normally this is due to wear and tear of the inner workings. Often a replacement seal or valve can solve this problem quickly and economically
What is considered a plumbing emergency?
Normally Sewer blockages and overflowing is the most urgent plumbing matter. And any water leaks that are causing serious damage to property is an emergency.
What causes pipes to leak?
